Current Owners
We are Ton and Petra Wijnen, married in 1996, and we have three sons, Lars, Tomas and Jesper. They live together in our home in Almelo with our dog Tommy and our cat Bink. When we are not in El Pajarero we sometimes stay in Almelo for short periods.
After spending many vacations with our family in various places in Europe, we went to El Pajarero for the first time in 2006.
At that time we were one of the first guests of Klaas and Jan, the previous owners.
For almost 3 years we spent several vacations at El Pajarero, where we enjoyed all the facilities, a large swimming pool, a cinema and a gym, as well as Midas and Nena, Klaas and Jan’s dogs.
Since we liked the surroundings, the climate and the hospitality of the Spaniards, we bought our own villa, Villa Vinos, nearby in 2008.
For years we enjoyed this villa with our family and friends.
Since Klaas and Jan had El Pajarero for sale, we applied as interested parties in 2019. By mutual agreement, we decided that El Pajarero would change hands in early 2023. From autumn 2023, our friendly and cheerful dog Nala will keep us company at the Villa.

History
El Pajarero was envisioned by Klaas Pals and Jan Hoekstra. They purchased the villa during its construction phase and completed it with their creative ideas between 2004 and 2006.
After finishing the perfectly designed villa, they began renting it out—starting with the apartment and later adding the two B&B rooms. Guests staying at the villa could enjoy a luxurious lifestyle, take in the incredible views from the various unforgettable terraces, relax by the large swimming pool, and make use of the beautifully designed barbecue area. But above all, guests loved the company of Klaas and Jan, who always brought warmth, joy, and engaging conversations. Over time, they built a loyal group of returning guests who came back year after year to El Pajarero.
